I have been known as Bobby since my first job in a factory years ago.

A couple of the girls there started to call me Bobby and it stuck, so I am known as Bobby in male or female mode. :-)

Samantha from Samantha Fox who was my idol in more ways than one when I was a teenager and Ryder because it's what I like doing (tee hee). I changed it to that after starting out with "Bridges" which was the surname of one of my friends' mums who I had a MASSIVE crush on! xx

Interesting topic. I thoroughly enjoy hearing how we all came to be known by the names we have. When I came to the realization that this feminine persona was more than a simple fetish, but rather a very real part of my complete personality, I struggled with an appropriate name for myself. Suddenly, my memory went back to when I was a young child. Even then I was mesmerized by the beauty of the wife of a man with whom my mother had been friends since her childhood. This couple and my parent's were friends and I remember visiting each others' homes. Her name was Valerie, and even a a very young child I thought she was beautiful....*sigh*

My last name is actually a derivative of my own original name....

When I was in my very early 20's I met an Amber at work on a course. She was beautiful and I thought the name was too, since I'd never come across anyone before with such a name. So it just went from there really.

I Came to be called Fiona after a lady who was doing a makeover for me started asking me about femme names for myself and Fiona had been a recent girlfriend at that time so I chose that and it`s stuck ever since,it certainly seemed to fit with my tarty blonde image, the surname twist added more recently came after people started saying i had a similar look to cheryl cole as a brunette, Its certainly a more realistic surname than Darkwhip,I Could raise a few eyebrows booking in to a hotel with that name.

Found out from my aunt that had I been born a girl my name would have been Lucy, so for me it was a way of connecting with my mum as she died when I was only young.

My first name came from a french film of the name Nikita, but i shortened it niki which i find is a bit more sexy. As for the second name its after one of my favourite cities of the world, Paris. Beautiful city

I wanted something a bit draggy and fun but girly too. I liked Chloe for a while but went off it. I have a sense of humour and thought 'Sofonda Cox' was fun. Then I realised 'Sofonda' was a really daft name.

Then I thought 'Poppycock' (which is a fab word) which became 'Poppy Cox'. Poppy Cox is my alter ego and I've turned that into POPCOX for my DJ 'stage name' and incase I produced a band.

Its shortened to loads of friends to 'Pops' whether I'm in boy or girl mode which suits me fine although it freaks some people out becuase it sounds to some people like I'm being called 'grandad'!

Griffy is my Second Life name. The Caedmon part was chosen by the game and it sounded vaguely Welsh so I added Griff - then when it needed changing to a girly version, added the y - not much could be done by way of name changing in SL then.

My REAL female name is Catherine Hopkins - chosen because I like Catherine and pretty much all its contractions - Cathy or Cat. Hopkins is a family surname from a few generations back.

My surname is a slight contraction of my birth surname and I wanted a first name that couldn't be shortened, was a little different and sounded feminine, Trudy just came to me one day and I instantly liked it. As far as it not being shortened didn't really work though as my wife calls me Trudes!

MY name on here was worked between my soon-to-be-ex-wife and I.
But when my transition has commenced, and I am divorced in August, I shall return to using my real and Family surname as I am Proud of it and Proud to carry a Welsh Family Name as I am Proud to be Welsh And my forenames will also be Welsh:)
