How did you get your alter ego name?

  • July 3, 2016 6:50 PM BST
I was looking for names of famous women. Initially liked Josefina (Bonaparte) and Marlene (Dietrich), but I decided to Victoria when I met her love affair with Prince Albert. Boudicea is by the force of the queen, who hope to have.

i was given the nickname sailor sam, because of my surname during my fisrt year in the NZ Air Force.  This later was shorthened to just Sam.

I liked Sam better than my own name and took a longer version for my fem name. thinking of a new surname i notice the name on my guitar amp Ashton, and liked it. so now i am Sammi Ashton.

I neither have an alter ego, nor a pretend name.
Jamie is (rather conveniently as it's Male and Female) my real middle name, and I'm always fearlessly just myself, regardless of my appearance.
Interesting to read about other peoples stories, though

It may sound silly but my name is a reference to Melissa Duck, the animated cartoon character ^^

Mine was just out of the spare of the moment. After the the make-up and wig were on, one look in the mirror and it just came to me, Marissa. As for the Malevolent, it's part of the "goth" culture, if you look up some of the goth girl sites they all have names like Veronica Venom or Toxic Vision etc.

If I had been born a girl my mother said she would have called me Rachael, so that's who I am.

I was at a dance, dressed as a flapper, and the person that I was dancing with (fairly closely at the time)called me Sophie. I later found out that it was his wifes name so ,feeling flattered ,I kept it.

I chose Caroline because as a child I just loved Carolyn Jones as Morticia Addams and one of my first schoolboy crushes was on a girl also named Carolyn. When looking for a girl name for myself, Caroline just felt right.

Years ago a friend into astrology and astronomy told me a 'trines' (pronounced 'treens') was when two planets came into close proximity from our perspective on Earth and faced away from each other. It was a bad augury as they entered and remained in serious conflict. I thought "That's me! ... My mind and body facing different ways and in serious conflict". And it sounded feminine. I didn't feel like a "Barbara" or a "Helen", I wanted something fairly unique, so I chose it as as my name. Unfortunately most people don't know how to pronounce it - they think I'm middle or east European and I get all manner of variations - Trynes, Trinnis, Treeness, Terrines - the list is endless.

It is now my legal name, appearing on my female passport and other official documentation although I now learn my friend was wrong, it is a GOOD augury and the planets co-exist in peace and harmony! But since my social transition and GRS, I think I can live with the new meaning as peace and harmony sums me up rather nicely these days!!!

it was actually the name of my first girl friend, very young and her overpowering advances frightened the shit out of me, used to run away and hide in the school toilets untill she had gone. i expect peer pressure didn't help with the "we know who you love" calls ringing out across the play ground. many years have past since then, but now i honour her with her name.

I have always liked the name Deborah ever since I was in school, and Phoxx is a play on Fox, I chose this because there is a standing joke between myself and a family member that revolves around Foxes.

I was Tanya to begin with, am ex of mine who was comfortable with me dressing decided that my femme self looked a bit like Tanya from Eastenders, then we split up and as Tanya was my handle on my Social media accounts and for fear of her "outing" me, I changed it to Candi.

    Should I go back? Lol

I've seen this topic posted and thought I'd replied to it ages back...….but I hadn't!

I took my first name from a girl I dated not long after leaving school. She wore a lot of pencil skirts and I was in awe of her a little. She was as cute as a button.
I gave myself a middle name of Amanda, as it is what I'd have been called by my parents if I'd been born a girl. My younger sister inherited that title.
Brookes is simply my last name.

I've had quite a few monikers, some absurdly slutty ones, but I'm happy now with Allison Ashcroft as it goes with my age and time of life - and is a temporary deception as to what lies beneath!
