Edith Piaf had it right in her song, "Non, je ne regrette rien."
I don't know if she followed her own advice ? But here is the English translation !

    No! No regrets.
No! I will have no regrets.
All the things that went wrong.
For at last I have learnt to be strong.

    No! No regrets.
No! I will have no regrets.
    For the grief doesn't last,
    It is gone,
    I've forgotten the past.

    William Blake said,
My mother groaned! my father wept.
Into the dangerous world I leapt:
    Helpless, naked, piping loud;
Like a fiend hid in a cloud.

'Her dress looked like an open-casket funeral for her legs'

I'm not sure of the name of the amusing lady that said this comment,
during the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest, but it was pretty funny I thought. The lady was a presenter, maybe from the USA and when it showed the dress in question, she had described it pretty well. It was a very brief clip but maybe black, or dark material, long at the back and sides, with a rectangular panel cut out at the front, somewhere above the knees. There was a white, or light edging on the dark material as well and that comment I thought was pretty smart as well so maybe she is a well-known US comedienne or something like that.

    Cowboy quote

Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from any direction.
