    I started a blog.
I'm not worth publishing, but I just wanted a way to communicate the positives to a wider audience.

If you like it, follow me, share this, and tell me what you think

good blog in ways samantha but not sure death to the tranny is an apt title lol also transvestite part needs a bit more explaining as some say they are that but they are C.D. as a transvestite dresses to have sex with some one of their own gender and the word transgender has covered the whole spectrum rightly or wrongly as yes i despair at times how we are all classed under the same banner and all get tarred with the same brush as fetish or pervs as myself i consider that i am transgender or a tgirl (i do like tgirl) i always wear girls jeans everyday have a girly vest top under my tshirt and i dont change character when i go out fully dressed on girly nights out i am im me (twisted sister quote lol) so me im happy with the ord tranny as its a short version of transgender and we need to claim it back from the people who use it to discriminate and use it as a Condescending word at us xxxxx
thanx for the fab read xxxxx

Interesting stuff, well written and personal in a good way. I don't think that anyone at all is the same across the whole of society so it's nice to see individual differences being talked about rather than trying to convince ourselves that "we're all the same."

Good read Samantha (ive plus one'd youhave to agree with Amymichelle i don't mind the words tranny or tgirl although its all dependent on the context and whose saying it - other gurls (ooo gurl is probably my favourite) and admirers good - people taking the piss not so good - but then the type of people that are derogatory about others for any reason are not people i like to be around! X

I agree with Samantha , I've known alot of people from many different countries that find the word "Tranny or Trannie" extremely offensive and derogatory, It seems to be used in the UK fine, But please remember not all are in the uk and some don't like it , I myself find that i am corrected many times by some users here with a particular dislike to the name.

Back in the Dark Ages of the late 1960s before we had any gay reform, gay was considered a bad word by much of the community. However, some of the more confident members of that group used it openly to throw it back in other peoples faces, almost like a shock tactic. I use the term Tranny when describing myself to someone in much the same way when talking to people outside the community. You very quickly find out their mis-conceptions and gives you the opportunity to correct them.

Top marks Samantha, that should be published somewhere (not sure where) to help raise awareness that we are normal people and not freaks. Looking forward to reading more...

I think Josephine has a point. Should we not 'reclaim' (I think 'subvert' would be a better word but there you go...) the word trannie and try to make it our own?

I agree with Grace. It's time to reclaim first. And then subvert.

What an inspiration. You have such a talent for expressing what many of us feel. We are people with split personalities, and I certainly find I am a different person when dressed - more understanding, kind, affectionate, loving and tender. Different to my male persona.
I "came out" to a female friend of 40 years standing the other week. It took courage on my part, but I felt I needed to tell someone, and Dorothy was wonderful. She immediately took to Helen, helped with make up, and talked to me for hours trying to understand my other persona. She loves me as Helen, and is really affectionate with me.
    Thank you, dear.

Just think what it was like with two fashion conscious daughters in the house! Not just one significant other half to sympathise with but three. And yes we may not be able to experience child birth but we will be there and at least empathise. One male colleague once commented about me "You know far too much about too many women's things". Looking back I'll take that as a complement.

BTW you missed the bit about clothes being more than red, blue, green or brown; coming in colours such as crimson, rose, hot pink, .....

Loved the blog. Keep it up.

It's a really lovely blog, funny and painfully sharp at times too. I went shopping for women's clothes for the first time today and the difference is exactly as you say. xx
