Chinese or Indian food?

  • July 27, 2013 5:27 AM BST
Hello, I think it depends a lot of the time, at least I do when I decide to eat or dine, almost always a decision based on what I want, although I confess to be fan of Chinese food, but why not, I've never tasted Indian food, sounds interesting ....... Hmmm here in cancun, mexico, I think there is Indian food, I think I have a mission in front of me I will have to find and ........... try, after I talk to them, thanks.

Being a Brummie I think a good Indian meal tops it but be careful as too much will pile the pounds on!!! My very favourite is neither, I'm a seafood lover!

Love to cook both but, I love to cook indian (normally rogan josh or madras) from scratch. I love the smell coming from the oven on a saturday, of a curry cooking for hours on a low temperature. Make some sag aloo to go with it. Bottle of wine, good food and good company - happy, happy, happy xxx

My problem is Mal I tend to go with the Keith Floyd style of cookery. The unfortunate thing is then, that anything of a medium heat then becomes NASA rocket fuel! Therefore a weapon of madras destruction lol xxx

Keith Floyd...a glass for the casserole and a glass (or 3 for the chef).....a weapon of madras destruction sounds horrific. Visions of Tonee Blair begging Gordon Brown to pass the water. xx

I suppose I am really lucky, I have a friend who is Italian and also a chef, so weve had some amazing cooking sessions, in Italian and Spanish cuisine. Thanks to him I cook mediterranean food all the time now, so good for you and so much tastier than our bland British dishes

It can be horrific at times Pauline! Think that's why the red wine gets hidden until food is ready to be eaten. xxx :-)

Yes its a good one isn't it Peter - sort of puts into perspective our foibles and prejudices.

Indian food is amazing for me because of its balance of spices and flavours; mind any cuisine that uses fresh ingredient and is well cooked has to be a feast for the stomach as well as the eyes.

I can remember when I used to think bland food was so yummy, but as I have gotten older and tasted new cuisine from around the world, I crave food that has distinct flavours to enjoy, be it curry from India or SE Asia, or the myriad different flavours on any Chinese restaurant menu. And if it is home-cooked even better.
