I think violent pornography should be removed from the web completely .I fail to see a need for it.
People may want it but want is not need.
My reason for saying this is due to the fact that Ed Gein the real life killer Hitchcock based Psycho on ( loosely based ) was , and I have done my own research on this , addicted to violent sexual pornography both written and image-based.
There are others I could name and while I am not saying everyone who views violent pornography will become a raving loonie, it certainly won't improve them in any way.Also, how quickly do you get used to a certain level of violence and regard it as normal?
In the romany community casual violence within the family unit is claimed to be very common and accepted as normal.
It is this question of what is accepted as normal that has resulted in generations of domestic abuse in working class families.Are we to assume none of the males involved never viewed violent pornography? This is a thorny issue that could be debated endlessly and that is the root of the problem.
Inaction can't be beneficial to anyone.
I say violent porn should be banned and other porn should only be permitted to be accessed by those adults who register with full verifiable details N.I. Number , birth details, current address, etc.
If they are only looking for harmless fun then they shouldn't mind, should they?
As for leaving it for the parents to supervise their childrens online viewing , that is both evasive and irresponsible buck-passing.
Most children know more about computers than their parents. Hackers are born in the playground.
Nor does it prevent children from accessing the visual front -page of a site by using the wrong keyword,
Porn-sites should not contain visual images on first access as many do.You should first have to enter before seeing or reading anything.
If a site says Porn then you know it's porn -you don't need graphic images to tell you.
