Watching the BBC News last night I was very impressed with Kate Silverton's new hairstyle. That got me on to thinking about stylish women presenting the news and wondered which female newsreaders you admired for their style and looks and wished you could emulate.

Thanks Stella for widening the field on this one. I don't know Rachel but will check her out (pic below). In terms of weather girls Susan Powell, Louise Lear and Lucy Verasamy spring to mind for me :-)

I don't know if anyone saw Natasha Kaplinsky on the ITN News last night. She was looking mighty fine in a lovely black suit and matching nails. Also Nina Hossain adds a real touch of retro Mad Men style glamour to the news bulletin.

Susanna Reid has been mentioned more than once and look forward to seeing her while eating my brekkie. Can't wait to see her in Strictly now. I also loved Sian Williams and Sophie Raworth

Susanna Reid, always like to see what she is wearing as we suit the same colours so if a colour suits her it will likely work for me.

Elizabeth Rizzini (Weather Girl) coz she often looks like she is on her way out clubbing rather than reading the weather. I love the idea she gets a clothing budget and spends it on clothes better suited to wedding receptions and classy nightclubs. I'm sure she is a kindred spirit.

You just know that all the breakfast girls (which reminds me Louise Minchin is gorgeous too) have been given the remit from their bosses of showing leg. Crossing them at every opportunity and generally accentuating them. I know its to entice the men to watch but do they realise that a large proportion of the trans community are tuning in for tips on what to wear and how to wear it xx

Thanks Kelly I've got to confess I think Louise Minchin is gorgeous too. Both her and Susanna Reid (who has already received an honourable mention here) certainly brighten up the TV screen in the morning. I think you're totally right about a large proportion of the trans community tuning into BBC Breakfast for the reasons you suggest. Well if not, me and you certainly do lol.

I agree Veronica, a girl can't go far wrong if she has Susanna as her style guru. Like you and Kelly, I can't wait to see her hitting the dance floor on Strictly, not to mention Fiona Fullerton and Rachel Riley. The professional female dancers always look totally amazing, though I'm very disappointed to see Erin Boag has been dropped from this year's line up. She is so elegant and has 1,000 kilowatt smile to light up any ballroom

Susan, living in the North West I'm not unfortunately familiar with the delights of Elizabeth Rizzini presenting the weather for London. However I like the attitude you say she has to dressing. A kindred spirit indeed.
