I'm not usually a daytime telly viewer but BBCs Breakfast was on just before I went out this morning, and I caught Tanya Arnold presenting the sports news. Is it just me or does anyone else think that she comes across as a Tranny? Deepish voice, the hint of an adams apple and she's even got a tranny name for heavens sake.

Don't get me wrong, I think she is very attractive, it was just the first thought that leapt into my mind.

She`s been on regional telly in Yorkshire for some time, she has a very manly voice, but is a real girl, a friend of mine who works for BBC has worked with her in Leeds.

I suppose she could be, but the funny thing is, I noticed on shows such as Maury on Sky when he does his "Boy or Girl" specials, The real women seem to get really offended when the audience think theyre a guy and the Tg's absolutely love it when no one can tell what they are, but so hysterical when you see guys faces when what they thought was a hot chick turns out to be a boy, talk about the "question on thier sexuality" look LOL

Tanya sounds like a guy, but is a real girl, she has turned up on Breakfast tv since the BBC moved that show to Salford, Tanya was also the presenterof a Rugby highlights show that has been networked, but most of her work has just been on regional tv in Yorkshire.

Agreed, some women are naturally more "masculine than most women, I can undestand why some people would think that

To put it another way Kittie, if Tanya was a radio presenter listeners would think they were listening to a man.

Lol, I know what you mean, there is this one guy who appears on the E channel who does interviews and usually appears on Chelsea Lately, now if you want to hear someone that sounds like thier voice doesn't go with them try that one, he has more of a feminine sound than any of the weomen presenters on that entire channel

I Know of one transexual radio presenter who when on air still very much sounds like a man, so by just calling herself on air by her initials `CJ` people dont realise they are listening to a girl at all, it was something i was a bit unsure about myself when starting the shows on transtastic radio, but i`m accepted as third sex and don`t try to sound femme on air.

How did you get a gig like that? I tried for ages to put myself out as a TG DJ for ages and got nowhere. Did you know someone or was it just something that came along?

All seemed to happen by chance really, ive been presenting on radio for a long time, and i have my own studio facilities so being in that position just lead to the offer of the show, getting Fiona out live is probably the next step with this perhaps doing the show live outside sometime or a night out based on the show, i`m open to offers, i have an open mind to things like that, gigging live en femme will probably be a fantastic buzz.

You must never give up, it can be surprising what can come your way, ive had offers of media jobs really out of the blue in the past, just because somebody has known of my work.

I found the market for what I wanted to do was just either too amny DJ's or the fact no one was willing to take a chance or give up a slot

DJs never want to give up a gig, usually they only leave one if sacked or get offered a better one. Personally at the moment i do a regular weekly show on one station, whch i will drop like a shot if i get an offer of a daily show elsewhere.

I wouldnt mind doing a slot on here, I think its an audience I am suited to, but if no one liked it, fair enough, I can atleast say I had a go! My playlisting is the sort rough outline for what i would play, but nothing too hard unless it was asked for, but my music covers a varied genre from the lats 70's new wave right up to now, some of it may be cheezy at times but i suppose you have to sometimes eh?
