    #1; dont be a victim

#2; 90% of worrying is utterly pointless, dont believe me? Think....

#3; look on the bright side, and think positive.

#4; we all have the power in us to change anything we like, no matter how big or small those changes.

#5; be loyal, generous and kind to others and it will be repaid tenfold.

#6; there is no such word as "can't", it does not exist, stop using it.

#7; shit happens, deal with it, thats life, move on and learn from the bad things that happen.

#8; live life like there is no tomorrow cos today could be all we have left.

    #9; believe nothing, question everything.

#10; cold pizza does not substitute as breakfast!

If there is re-incarnation then decide that you will come back as a Dutch woman - they are so clever that they only work part time and enjoy their lives !!!.

About 70% work part time, and part time is more than 1 hr and less than 16 hrs. And they are always in the Top Ten happiest women in the world. Not rich financially but in the quality of their lives.

Read Dutch women don't get depressed..or check out this link

being a victim is destructive, wrrying is destructive, nagetive thinking is destructive, lack f faith in ourselfs is destructive, being mean is destructive, saying I Cant is destructive, i could go on.

Yeah bad things happen, deaths, terminal illnesses, and its right we should get emotional over these things, too right, cry your eyes out, you will feel much better afterwards and hopefully you can come away with something positive, no matter how small that positive is.

I thought of these rules minutes before publishing them after hearing one person moaning, and always maning about other people upsetting them and ruining their day, what poppycock! We ourselves are solely responsible for our emotional reactions to any given event and situation, we all have a choice in how we deal with things, why pity yourself when you can pick yourself up and learn from it? why feel bad just because someone said something nasty, or stupid, or hurtful? Why let others dictate how WE feel?

We all have the power to take control.

Ditto marianne, though the word Power scares people, assuming its a masculine quality, but id rather feel powerful than pained any day. Power does not have to mean being domineering or controlling, but assertive and strong in mind, self and will. It takes a lot of power to be positive, being negative just drains ones power.

Hey, maybe we should start a happy support group here on transtastic? Might just work lol
  • March 31, 2012 1:35 AM BST
Thats a good idea Alexandra , we are a pretty supportive bunch anyway , theres no doubt that we look after each other and care about each other , certainly in the short time that ive been here i have heard nothing but positivity and kindness ( granted a few gripes but hey no,ones perfect ) but some sort of group where people can come if they,re feeling a bit down or need advice or just a kindly word or reassurance , yes lets spread a little happiness ! ,," happy happy happy happy talk "

Firstly be aware, of your impact on the world, and thus find joy within yourself in everything you do - never accept someones elses need for conformity and acting your age as your own - spread the light not the dark side of yourself- and never internalise error and beat yourself up- some very good advice on here starting off with Ms * and continued by Pauline, Jet, Jasmine, and Marianne-

Alexandra - I agree - I suppose I meant power in the sense of us taking control of our own world and away from the powers that be.
Glad you find it positive here Jet. It is.
Spot on April - people doing things that don't bring joy does - to coin a phrase - my 'sad in!
And Andrea - I would just add something my mum always said to me as a rider to your words of wisdom - "never lose your sense of humour"!

    Live your passion.
    Be responsible for your mistakes.
If you have two beers in the fridge, and one's a nice German stout and the other is a Bud, take the stout, for you may die tomorrow.
Related to that, never be afraid to take the last donut or the last piece of pizza!
