Sometimes the BBC comes up with gems for us special girls..I have copied and pasted the article - see below .......

A Japanese dress hire company has stumbled across an unexpected demand for men to be photographed in women's bridal wear, it is claimed.

When the firm Marry Mariee advertised a package to take pictures of women in gorgeous dresses, it was surprised to receive several inquiries from men. Kyodo news agency says that many of the calls came from outside Fukui Prefecture, where the outfitter is based.

"We concluded that men want to feel like princesses, too," Marry Mariee manager Hitomi Iseki says. The company now offers some 100 dresses - both wedding and formal wear - that can be altered to fit men. It has also tied up with a nearby barber where men can have a shave before getting made-up at Marry Mariee. It takes about two hours to get ready for the shoot.

In the interests of gender equality, Marry Mariee now also offers a service for women who want to be photographed in men's clothing. "We want to provide opportunities for people to enjoy showing their real selves, whether they are men or women," Iseki adds.

Now I know that quite a few girls either dream of wearing a wedding dress or would love to be able to hire one for the day. My questions are simple really, whether the answers are is a different issue.

    1. Have you ever worn a wedding dress?

    2. Would you like to wear a wedding dress?

    3. Do you own a wedding dress?

    4. Would you hire a wedding dress, if you could in a deal like in Japan?

    5. What do you like or dislike about the idea of wearing a wedding dress?

    hugs

I haver owned several wedding gowns purchased online from ebay and Goodwill locally (where I tried them on in the fitting room first). I still have one now, although they are not the easiest or most practical garments to wear for a quick dress up session

One that I like in my size would be nice but hire because when would you wear it again

I did have a wedding dress when I lived in Holland - in fact I think its still in store, but its too small for me now as its only a size 18.

I was a lot slimmer when I bought it - and I only ever wore it at home though as its not the kind of dress you can wear to go out.

When I bring back the last of my stuff later this year maybe I can award it to someone as a prize?

Andrea is right - when would you wear it again?

    hugs

I have worn a wedding dress, but I don't own one, but when wearing one it makes you feel so special.

iv got one and worn one and own it, it was my cousins friends which I bought from her after she had worn it to her wedding. my cousin also has a friend who owns a bridal shop nearby and has asked her if I can go and try some other dresses on and she has said it is ok to do that, so looking forward to arranging that soon

I went to a charity shop that specialises in designer clothing and Wedding dresses. The shop assistant had the time of her life having me try on half a dozen of the frilliest most girly girl dresses I've ever seen. I had the time of my life too.

I love to wear wedding dresses and do have my own, although it's not easy to find them in my size, which hovers around the 22 mark. I do like the full-on meringue dresses of yesteryear, which are sometimes available in charity shops, but recently have become entranced by the elegance of Monsoon's bridal collection. Reading this topic prompted me to recently post a pic of me in one of my gowns a year or two back.

Having had two daughters married recently and attended other friends receptions I know I could never do a wedding dress the best unless it was designed for me and I can't see that happening in the near future. Oh well!

I'm surprised. I thought it was every trans girls dream to at some point wear a wedding dress, it is certainly mine. I have never done it but so want to, whether it is for a few pictures or to experience your fantasy wedding at a country hotel. To me it is the ultimate item along with all the trimmings (that includes the groom). One day ,one day sigh......

At least once a year! We have several very large black walnut trees on our property and in summer when they are in full leaf practically screen us completely from the road; late in may for just a few days they begin to flower, and the mass of white blossom makes a perfect backdrop for a bridal photo And for what I paid for my gowns second hand, it is much cheaper than hiring one (plus no stress of dealing with staff at a rental business)
