This was triggered by reading an article about those ladies who don't like red lipstick and use things like Chanel Mademoiselle at £25 a pop, though the Boots No7 sheer attract is probably more neutral and for sure its much less expensive.

Although I have several different shades of lippy I tend to wear only 3 maybe 4 shades - red, pinkish, brownish and purplish. I have tried orange when wearing a red wig but am not convinced that's its really me, as my natural coloring is not that of a redhead.

Anyways instead of having a poll I thought it might be fun if you could have a think about your lippy, and a new one is a great thing to cheer you up - isn't it, and just think about some of the following questions?

1. How old were you when you first tried lipstick?

I have about 6 lippys to my collection.
My Fav colour is REDs
My favorite one is Revlon Colourstay in the shade Red Velvet
Although i have just purchased one by MAC Russian Red

1. 20 to 25 not really sure it was not really something I gave much thought to until later on in life.

2.Subtle shades brown to purple from M&S on wife present buying pretext. Still have them as they were very good and not too violent.

3 I have purchased about 25 however they came in various multi kits and a few nice ones from Debenhams.

4. Favorite shade, well that is a good question, I have found that the very natural colour's are best for me unless I want to be hot babe, then well just about anything really most seem to work I just adjust the clothes and shoe colour's to match or just not display the photographs. Most shades seem to look good especially with a pencil around them to accentuate the shape of my mouth. Also I now always add cherry flavor lip gloss as well to finish off, love the lips to look soft and kissable and taste delicious.

My favorite is red of course ! i love the Mabeline 24 hour - it never last's that long but it has a real vivid red ! x

Love Lipfinity - Passionate!!! Always have four shades to reflect the seasons - and I tried it first when I was about 10 - made a right mess!!!

I have five or six mostly light to dark reds, and one dark plum for a goth-look...the first time I wore lippy would have been in the mid-eighties

i love dark purples and deep reds to xxx

I own about 30 different shades of lipsticks, they are mainly reds and pinks, I just love those colours.

Deep Scarlet Red with a liner of ultra dark red

number 6 sugar pink in the volume sensation range from Collection and number 2 pink shock from the lasting colour range also collection are my present faves , I apply the 6 first , then a dusting of pressed powder and the 2 over that for a lasting metallic shine , I tend to go for the lighter pink shades mostly .

my absolute fave is called Doris Karloff
its bright red and just so well............me

Just bought a new shade from boots No 7 range. It's a lip stain along with their lip crayon. The stain is called Seduction. This could be interesting.

1. first tried lipstick around 14-15 on a dare.
2. First shade I ever bought was a neutral skin tone so as not to stand out too much.
3. Now own 4 shades.
4. Favorit color is an auburn red, though a bright pink is a very close second.

Favorite shade P? My favourite shade is bright red! lol xxx

Has anyone tried the new lip crayons from the Boots No7 range? Sallyann seems to be a big convert at least for daytime lippy. While I was buying her the 'Berry' shade she wanted I saw the Lip Stain range - bit like a felt-tip pen. I was told that they would stain the lips so would last longer but the stain would come off with normal makeup remover. I was advised to use a moisturiser over the stain or even the lip croyon.

I have about 12 lipsticks in my make up bag and they are all by Rimmel.When I have guests or feel a bit naughty then its Rimmels Alarm which a bright red.Normal day wear is a medium shade of pink.

1) About 5/6 put on by next neighbour's daughter (same age)

Fave colour for everythi8ng is black.

Although these days I like also a deep dark burgundym, the colour of congealed blood.

And purple. I'm so one-dimensional :p

First time I wore the stuff I was 22 or something and I was dressed as 'The Crow'.

1. About 16. Then a gap of about 4 years until I joined a glammy rock band, then went bonkers.

2. Probably scarlet red. Love red.

3. 3 Scarlet reds, 2 pinks, 1 burgundy and a couple of flesh-coloured for pale-lips/big eyes photos.

4. Red. It's the easiest to colour-change in Photoshop, and also looks the best when layered in lipgloss.
