It's actually haematoma.
A collection of blood (commonly a result of trauma or postoperative complications) that ends up clotting through lack of flow though arteries and veins.
Not to be confused with what most people refer to as 'blood clot' where you get a clot in a major vessel resulting in DVT (deep vein thrombosis), PE (Pulmonary embolus), or even CVA (stroke) or Myocardial infarction (MI - Heart attack).
Haematoma are sometimes able to be left to disperse by themselves, but more often they require a minor surgery to remove them.
Hope you get well soon, can't be comfy.
xx
(Oh, by the way, I'm an RGN - I didn't just go out of my way to correct you, I just wanted to explain more clearly before misinformation was rife)
