Former Navy SEAL goes from Chris to Kristin interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN.
    Did anyone see it?

I applaud Anderson for covering this; and for Kristin for the courage to bring this into the public so maybe more people can move closer to understanding transgender people like us better.

WOW! That's such a wonderful, inspiring piece! I think it will make so many haters look at us in a different light. We can serve, we do have a huge contribution to give to our nation. Anderson is so spot on with his interview too. What a story - I have goosebumps! Thank you so much Erin! xxx

For some reason my link won't work - so just gone the long way round!
Very interesting, although i have no desire to transition, like Jules - goosebumps and a tear - nice to see she has the support of her "Seal Brothers" - Thanks for the suggestion Erin Mwah xxx

I just bought her book and I was reading the reviews at the front of the book and one quote caught my eye that Kristin 'blows away any stereotypes people might have of transgendered people'! She sure does! xxx

Much respect to Kristin Beck on so many levels- she deserves admiration in terms of her bravery throughout- and even more having been through all she has been through, the final push to actually recognise herself as herself. I think she could teach that appalling shock jock a thing or two about transition, and transsexuals, and what courage it takes and no she would not bear all doing it !!!!

Thanks Erin, a moving piece of journalism.

Kristin reminds me of a Dutch friend of mine who was a major in the Dutch marines and fought in Kosovo and ended up in the personal bodyguard to ex Queen Beatrix. Her marriage failed when she came out, but then she found a new partner who accepted her as her - and together they drove the TG Rotterdam group from 6 attendees around 2001 to over 50 when I left Holland in 2007.

Many of us more mature girls denied being TG for years and grew beards, even if we didn't serve in the armed forces. Anything macho so as not to admit....."i wanna be a girl"?

    Hugs Pauline xxx

I too am ex forces , 3 years queens regiment B company ( I must have known to be in a regiment with that title ) , I wonder how my comrades would react to see me now ? , having said that I work for the railways and lots of our drivers an guards are ex forces and they have been really supportive , I have had burly great drivers come striding up to me and I have thought " oh god here we go " ! , but no they hug me and tell me how proud they are of me so I think that says something .

Oh yes I agree with Kristin " you don't have to ove me , you don't even have to like me, but please don't kill me " , were pretty lucky here in the Uk , we might get the odd comment and the odd look but thankfully we don't get too many killings or beatings ( but it does happen girls so still be carefull ) .

I spent 10 years in the military and can relate to a little of this. Some of the comments on cnn by people are of people that are real narrow minded though and just don't want to understand. But it is nice to see an article like this.

Yes I heard of Kristin Beck's amazing coming out story recently. I am so proud of her for coming out like this. She is my newest transgendered woman role model now.
