I don't know how many of you have heard the theory that Elizabeth I was a man?

Much more believable is that she was barren because her mad father Henry VIII (of headless wives fame and a patron of many Tgirls' photos) suffered from syphilis. P xxx

Hi, Pauline, I think you are right! I think the fact that Bram Stoker (of Dracula fame) was the person who wrote about it is quite interesting! xxx

    Hi Mal,

I think that I "learned" the factoid about Elizabeth when I did history A level, the teacher used it as an example of how to start an essay on Elizabeth's foreign policy...get the examiner's attention in the first sentence.

Whether she was barren or Henery had syphilis - I really dont know. She did use lead based make up to make her face white, that I do know. Maybe the Bisley boy hid under her voluminous skirts???

    hugs

Well a certain W Shakespeare (or Shakspar) was there to rewrite history for the benefit of the upstart throne stealing Tudors.

After all Richard III was the lawful king, even if he did end up in a car park.

I suspect that really "good queen bess" was a real woman and not a trannee, and she did an OK job when the enemy were the Spanish...rather than tobacco......
