How can I describe the effect that this man's music had ......

    I cannot

For all of you ...whether you have ever heard him sing or not...

    Just listen and watch this

    and this

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00cp52s/Otis_Redding_and_Friends_Stax_Volt_Revue_67/

He was the Stax Sound ....and very special....

    6 foot 4 ....and that voice !!!!

He died young like so many with talent..........

And in the 1960s in the UK he was very very special.

We never ever thought about his colour...it was that amazing voice...after all we could not actually see him that often.....even on television.

Not like now ...back then it was a bit different.

    Hi Pauline

Many thanks for this, I grow up as a young sax player with songs like Try a little Tenderness, A change has got to come, I've been loving you too long, as well as Dock of the Bay, and Love man. Such a lose in 1967 just 26 years old, was shocked just as the world was, his music is still alive today and will out live a lot of the so called music of today
