Now its on Sky here in the UK I dont watch it anymore but was a great fan of the earlier episodes, especially the girdles the actresses wore. Brought back many memories. P xxx
It is a series on HBO over here about Madison Avenue in New York (advertising business set in about 1967 currently) they featured the hottest red mini dress flight attendants with the sexiest rounded hat with brims, sexy pantyhose and red go go boots recently in a Mile High Club setting!
The script dialogue and acting is incredible...as are the late 50s and 60s costumes.....not just girdles but the whole thing. Although its Madison Avenue it captures the era and changing attitudes and morality very well...in my opinion. It won lots of awards - and i think you can but the series on DVD in the UK. Pauline xxx
HBO always deliver quality so I will start scouring the late night schedules and see if I can find it. Thanks for the tip ladies. Now have I told you about the best TV programme ever, the Sopranos - lol xxxx
The womens clothing from the early episodes set in the late 50's are amazing.
It's almost like porn to a crossdresser. The wonderful full skirted dresses with crinoline petticoats or the very tailored skirt suits are amazing.
There is an episode "For Those Who Think Young" in which Mrs. Draper wears a low cut full skirted with a petticoat cocktail dress that will make you weak in the knee's when you see it. I think I paused my DTR for 10 minutes just to stare at it.
I was very disappointed the Mad Men series came to an end , I love that period of style watched every episode .Shame ,I will have to watch the repeats when they come back on !
