"Its the easiest thing in the world to get tired of our clothes before they get tired of us" The Lady in 1934

Nothing much has changed and it behoves all of us to be thrifty and look at buying clothes in charity shops or on E Bay. Or even buy fabric and make our own clothes, or get someone to make it for us

As an aside I do know that Mrs Paula Dee is/was making dresses and skirts for us girls, and was searching for a dress makers dummy to use

Back to the main thread....as a lady of a certain age (as Tina so eloquently sung about me) I have seen many fashions go...and with a more rounded shape can no longer get into the clothes of my girlhood.
However in addition to buying catalogue clothes and frequenting Primani...I also find lots of bargains in charity/thrift shops. Not just dresses or blouses or skirts...but eclectic jewellery and some really wowee scarves as well. I bought an orange necklace fro £2.50 only 3 weeks ago...and have Chanel watches and a Gucci bag from the days when 2nd hand shops were not so observant as now.

Have a read of the Vintage Years and do some Up-cycling of your own, and for the Brits here...enjoy the concert tonite.

    lots of hugs

    Pauline xxxx

well, that's a new perspective for me... I've never seen wearing second hand clothes as 'wearing other peoples clothes', Charity shops, eBay, jumble sales, wherever.. but you can get some lovely 'new' (new to us) clothes from places like them.... and there certainly is nothing wrong with recycling clothes

for me, wearing other peoples clothes meant that you were secretly wearing the wifes dress while she was out, or maybe your sisters or mothers which I did find a bit strange but hey, whatever...

I remember a night out back in Feb this year where I bumped into a female friend in a bar, she was wearing a lovely black mini dress, we exchange the usual pleasentires, "wow, I love your dress" & "you look great" but during the night we had the idea of nipping to the ladies and literally swapping clothes in one of the cubicles, women do it alot so Im told... & suprising how many people didn't notice for 10 minutes or so... life is about having fun, enjoying life & not taking things too seriously
