The point is that so many great artists died young.....whether its Janis Joplin, Hendrix, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly or Marc Bolan or Otis.

only the young want to die before getting old,the old want to live

some of the oldies like Buddy Holly, Otis Redding etc died in accidents but many pop stars (old and new) died young due to drug abuse... all people in the public eye, pop stars, celebrities etc, will have influence on the generation to whom they target, that goes without saying.....

but have you noticed that the ones who die due to drug or alcohol related problems get MORE media coverage than the ones who pass on through accidents, illness or just old age...

we had endless Facebook statuses, tweets, TV & Radio tributes to Amy Winehouse & Whitney Houston when it was announced they had died. I was puzzled as to why they were getting MORE exposure than the great Robin Gibb who died recently of cancer achieved a thousand times more than Winehouse & Houston put together, & Davey Jones (The Monkees) died after a long illness... Gibb & Jones had life in the public eye spanning 40 years....

for me, people like Winehouse and Houston DO have a positive influence on me... they show me that drug & alcohol abuse is BAD NEWS and I stay well away from them and people who abuse them... also people like Gibb & Jones have an influence on me, I admire them for their ability to entertain me for the last 40 years without getting into the trend of fucking themselves up like most do...

what scares me is my 14yr old niece, who loves Amy Winehouse's music said she 'wants to be just like Amy'... I said, you mean a crap smack head singer who was so off her face during her concerts that she could even remember the words to her own songs, and is now dead'... she got a little reality check there... lol

My biggest influence is the late great Ena Sharples... I style myself on her... ;-)

then the knob robbie williams sang hope im old before i die and then bon jovi sang live while im alive and sleep when im dead which is a good way to be im just gonna walk in heels as long as i can lol xxxxxxx
