Moisturisers

There has been several debates recently on Transtastic about moisturisers, and several girls are struggling to find good ones. I use Nivea, but many find that too oily.

The Guardian make up guru, who gives great tips on make up, has just written this one on men's moisturisers. And before any of you get your knickers in a twist remember that although we are special girlies...we do shave our faces and thus need moisturisers.

One thing she didn't say was: that if you moisturise after shaving and before putting on your make up - whether you use a primer or not - the beard cover and/or foundation will blend in much better.

Use a good Tea Tree Moisturiser after shaving those legs.
It is best to exfoliate every other day too to prevent any ingrowing hairs which can be a nightmare to get rid of.
    Thanks Pauline for the suggestion

I now use Covergirl / Olay Simply Ageless, Serum Primer.
    A little expensive at @ $24.00 AU ....
But always look for the specials girls ?
I bought three at almost half price ?

It makes your freshly shaved face feel so smooth and luscious ??

I use it every day now and it applies a soft sheen to my face that can't be detected ?

Being a little older than most and hypothyroid which causes my skin to dry out very quickly, I use Dove Pro-Age cream oil lotion. I find for even my dry skin it works great!

For normal daywear I use this, it is midway between tinted moisturiser and foundation. It is perfect even in guy mode.

here are some cheap everyday products you can use in these tough financial times for all of us girlies.

Sudocrem...usually used for nappy or diaper rash (under £3 a tub) is an effective moisturiser

Hi Pauline, a very good tip for preserving the skin, is not to use cosmetic makeup remover to take your makeup off with.

Olive oil on a cotton pad will do same and will not take the oils from the skin, i also use olive oil as an emergency re hydrator, as sometimes on shoots my makeup may come off once or twice, olive oil penetrates well and fixes the problems almost instantly, meaning my foundartion will stay on my face :-)

Ise Nivea to help taking make up off before using make up tissues. It helps loosen the mascara beautifully. Once all make up off, another dab of Nivea to keep the skin soft.
