TRANNY

Sunday Jan 28 on my season four finale of The Fabulous D Show we'll be discussing WORDS. Some that people think are "bad" and should be forever banned. One of those words is "Tranny." No matter what GOOD context we may use it in I get hate mail on a weekly basis because of it.

Tell me your thoughts - what is wrong or right about the word Tranny? Do you use it? Do you like it? Our own Miss Cannons is perfectly fine with the word as am I. But I often come to blows over it on my show with some listeners saying it's degrading. Thoughts???

As we've discussed before on the show it may be a regional issue. I've noticed it's much more widely and comfortably used in the UK while my US and Canada friends are at odds over it.

There are so many terms to describe the errant human ... I won't list any of them , ... to be errant is to be free, to be called a "tranny" is to be called a free human being .... is it derogatory ?? I don't give a fuck !

You say human I say nazi ! what the fuck ? nicky xxxx

Well, I agree with TAD - I actually like the word Tranny - I think it kidna goes with my personality, not to serious about myself (well when I'm in a dress anyway) - I do realize it causes offence but I'm not sure why. Words have such power as how people interpret them.

I think that people need to see beyond the word and the intention that is was meant it - and this does have massive regional inferences.

    Tranny me up baby!

Tranny, transvestite, cd, tv, cross-dresser? What is the difference? I don't mind any or all of these terms.

I am quite happy and proud to be called a tranny, rather that than some other things I have been called over the years. But I really do not mind after all it is what I am, Transvestite is a word that was begging to be shortened
