There are lots pluses and some minuses to being a mature T girl....or "women of a certain age".

Some of the minuses are that you don't look as pretty as you did in your girlhood, you probably aren't as slim as you used to be, you probably cant shop at Top Shop and hairs grow in places they never used to......we all have our own lists

Some of the pluses are that often you are comfortable with being a T girl (T lady...no...T woman...maybe?) and hopefully have come to terms with whichever sexual choices you have made as a Tgirl. Also you maybe know enough about make up wigs and clothes to figure out what looks good on YOU.

The Guardian recently started a series of articles on mature women....which is where I lifted my title from....I shall post some of the articles from time to time, to be provocative and to show that RGs face tough choices just like us. As its from the Lifestyle part of the paper there are many fashion references, but hey girls we dress to look good...don't we?

Here is the link to the first one ....I have included an October 2011 pic of me, taken at a Manchester Concord evening; it shows that there is still some life left in this mature girl.

    hugs and kisses

An interesting posting. I think that we more mature T-ladies are more comfortable and more 'at home' with ourselves. We no longer have to try and look quite so stunning and sexy, but it's still fun to put on those skimpy litle numbers - if they still fit:(.
One thing I have noticed is that as I get older I find that my choice of undies has changed. Out are the skimpy little thongs, bras and sussie belts and in are the more comfortable, but still very attractive items.
The choice of clothing has also changed and with middle age spread spreading one learns to buy the clothing that is more suitable and maybe the wig has started to have a few grey hairs showing. Lets be honest we cannot stay young for ever and it is just as exciting to find the clothings and accesories that are more inline with becoming mature. Hell shopping is still fun!!!!!
    BTW the photo is lovely:)

Do we really need to look ten years younger or just look good. Are we happy in our skin?

In another blog The Invisible Woman rants about "miracle creams"......and readers join in with comments. Enjoy ladies

Isn't life trial and error anyway.... and for me that's where the fun lies, experimenting and getting it wrong now and again, your true friends laughing with you when you make mistakes... if life was simple and straightforward and we could always be perfect, it would be as boring as hell... As for the scaffolding, I'd love some cleavage, if I stick a note up the chimney, and no that's not a euphamism, do you think Santa will bring me some for Christmas...

Getting older does make you realise what extreme 'thought fascism' surrounds the worshipping of youth! As you get older you do get more comfortable in your skin and less inlfuenced by what others think. I still have to work very hard when going on a date and the words lingerie and control are now inextricably linked. As for Christmas I will once again be embrrasing Santa by wearing my tiny and very short Elf dress with tiny elfin knickers! as for scaffolding I have more of my own flesh to work with now on top!....one thought....are there any old folks homes that welcome t-girls!? After just starting to come out at 62 I have realized after 1.5 years the advantages of being a lady of a certain age. I pass without question as no body expects a sex symbol from a girl my age. No doubt having my own shoulder length hair helps and my beard while tough and wirey is no longer dark. I am thin enough to look good for a lady my age and can turn a few heads in the right outfit. Dressing and accessorizing becomes more important and more fun. I am old enough to not care waht people think and can dress with confidene. Also the layer of elderly flesh gives me small boobs to fill an A cup.
I can enjoy being rita much more at my age when I don't have to be perfect..

    hugs rita
