I just bought, at an op shop, a pair of retro disco high heeled silver knee length rear zip up boots !!! ...
But my feet don't quite fit into them ! I have tried shrinking my tootsies by the power of thought but , ... no luck.
Can anyone suggest how I can stretch or expand them just a smidge ? They look so sexy and I am so close ! I know in the old days there were shoe stretchers. Are there similar things available now ?

I have in the past wetted the material, then forced balls of screwed up newspaper really hard into the shoe/boot(zipped up of course). It may just work, depending on the material it is made of. And remember " All that glistens is not gold" as was Aragorn.
What's that got to do with it? Not a lot!
All the best, O Unspexed one!

PS Getting into those would be a major feat. Whereas minor feet would be more practical.

here in the UK you can buy stretchers, like Paula said. Usually in a shoe shop, which isnt a big surprise. Amazon also sell them hugs Pauline xxxx

I can't wait to see them on your cute legs! wink

I asked my local cobbler and he told me that real "Stretchers" cost about $90 each ! .... But they will last you a lifetime ! How often will I need them in my life I wondered ? He said the ones on eBay are cheap imitations . Any opinions ?
He also has a machine at his workshop that will do it, but I imagine that would involve trying them on for him ? ... Oh well, he seemed like a nice enough sort of bloke and work is work !! ??

if you're only going to use them once a cheaper option may be worth going for.
If you spend more you could always flog them on ebay if you find you dont need them.
I don't know how sizing your side of the pond works but I found if you can find European sizing generally more accurate than British as they go up in smaller increments. X

Thanks Darla. Unfortunately in the land of Oz we have to deal with a myriad of different sizes, .... we got US/Canada women's, me, size 9 1/2, ... Japanese, size 26 1/2, ... European, size 41, ... UK, size 7 1/2, ... and Australian Womens, size 9 1/2 again !!!!!!!!!! I have to remember to take my Shoe size Conversion Chart with me when I go shopping and try to work out where the shoes were made !! I could of course try them on, but that isn't always practicable. And anyway, when a shoe says it's a certain size that's just perfect, that doesn't mean it's going to fit ..... !! Oh woe is me ! Maybe I should do the Aussie ocker thing and just wear thongs !
