Gutted to hear the news. He was one of my musical heroes, as he was for many others!

What a Big shock to hear it on Radio Manchester at 7.00 am when I was only half awake.

Radio Mancs been ace this morning - with Mike Sweeney dedicating the last hour of his morning show 11-12 to David Bowie songs only. He has just interviewed Andy Peebles, ex Radio 1 DJ and co - owner and DJ of the Hard Rock club in Stretford, where David Bowie appeared live in 1972. Andy also interviewed David Bowie in New York, and as an aside was at college with me (small world).

I have posted on videos here David Bowie's greatest hits, so we can all enjoy some of his classic songs. And here is a link to David's obituary on France 24 - look at the piece on his different looks over the years and at the end of the article a fairly recent video (where you can see how gaunt he was with the cancer)

I was lucky enough to see him play live back in the days of the tin Machine. One of the slickest shows ever. Gone but never forgotten
