Sad Songs about Break ups

A big part of all our lives is rejection and the sadness and pain caused by that....as Noel Coward once said, "extraordinary how potent cheap music is".

Many of us "special girls" get rejected by partners, and back in our teenage years we suffered the pain and angst of teenage love.

Here are a few of my 1960s faves from my teenage years....

Roy Orbison - Only the Lonely, Running Scared

Supremes - Where did our love go

Otis Redding - I've been loving you too long

Marvin Gaye - I heard it through the grapevine

Sam Cooke - Bring it on home to me ( Lou Rawls on backing vocals)

    The Stones - Ruby Tuesday

There are many others that still catch my heart strings..... but that isn't so important.

Maybe you have some favourite sad songs too? And would like to share them, maybe?

    hugs

I think No Milk Today was maybe dedicated to Margaret Thatcher, or thatcher the snatcher who stopped free school milk back in the 1970s when she was in charge of education.

The Cramps-Lonesome town. It drips sadness and self pity and sometimes makes me laugh out loud because it is, intentionally, so over the top.
