Now that I am getting into dressing up more often, I have remembered what I love and hate

    Love Heels
Comfortable with 4.5 inches now but like a mountaineer I want to go higher, 6 inches calling - but Ive seen those ballet heels now OMG!

    Hate Zips
Which bastard invented rear zips? I just don't have the coordination or arms long enough. Rant over lol.

Love high heels too, but 5inch high is about my limit.
when I been wearing them for a while it feels funny walking in flats or bare foot, keep wanting to go on my tip toes.

as for rear zips, hook a metal coat hanger hook in the tab and see how you get on.

I wear 5 inch no platform heels when I can. Six with no platform is hard I have a larger foot and it is an extreme. But your legs look great. Now if its 6 inch with a platform it a little getting use to but not as hard. And I personally love that wanting to walk on my tip toes after wearing heels for a long time.

any piece of wire with a hook bent on the end will do, as long as it strong enough.
a wire hanger is kind of ready made.

RGs have the same issue, unless there is a handy man to do it for them. So you could try a "Zip Her" http://www.primaproductions.com/testimonials.html

However if you are in the least bit handy with a safety pin or paper clip why not try this approach, which is cheap and easy.

Hugs Pauline, they all seem to assume I am disabled in some way, but I just have arms in front of me.

    Smokey Blue,

Its very hard to do up a zip at the back of a dress. I have been struggling to do it for over 15 years on a regular basis, and real girls (RGs) struggle as well.

That's why I posted the 2 links, plus the coat hanger that Sabrina recommended works as well. A metal one is best as you can bend it into the shape you want, but really anything with a long piece of string helps you to bring the zipper up.

I just wish someone would invent a cheap and easy way for me to shave my back, so that I could wear low back dresses without a shrug, jacket or cardigan. Yes waxing is possible but there has to be a cheap and easy way to DIY.

    hugs

String and a safety pin / wire coat hangers. What an inventive Race we humans are. No wonder we managed to land a man on the Moon :-)

Usually I manage to hike a dress up sufficiently to get the zip through No (wo)Man's Land so I can reach it from above. Have come unstuck recently though having bought a quite fitted jump suit with arms (so it's not a step-in). The crotch (close fitting on me as I have a long torso) stops me from hiking it up so I've used the saftey pin and paper clip method. I can close the zip easily enough but it is very difficult to take either out when you are done up and impossible to refit behind your back when you want to pull it down. The main problem is that with hidden zips the zip tags are tiny and without a hole, you have to try to find the tiny gap between the tag and the zipper - and the space is absolutely miniscule. I'm scared of wearing it out in public in case I pee myself when trying unsuccessfully to get the damn thing off in the ladies. I shall have to employ the services of a little "zipper-wallah".

Another zip solution I've just found is the chain that connects a plug to the bath. It's 18in long and the hook is small enough to fit any zip with even a tiny hole in the tag. Like the safety pin idea, it only works if the zip goes up to your neck otherwise you are left with it dangling down your back with no way to detach/reattach.
