Its a great programme - it brought back many happy memories of 60's and 70's fashions. Sadly these days I am too big to find anything in my size - a 16 then would be a size 12 now as women were much much thinner than now (like me ..lol). I just wish I could have had the courage to wear some of those clothes back then.

1950's clothes are even more adorable, but I doubt if I could get near them. Marilyn Monroe had a 23 inch waist and was 5' 6" - so figure out how small women were. Though you can buy reproduction 50s clothes on E bay in today's sizing if you want a big bouffant circle skirt or dress with lots of petticoats or even a fitted sheath dress.

The presenter is very good and has a real resemblance to Cathy McGowan, who was Queen of the Mods on Ready Steady Go, a 1960s pop programme that was much edgier and cooler than Top of the Pops. I am guessing she models herself on Cathy - hair style is very Cathy or Sandie Shaw.

I found a pic of Cathy with a young Mick Jagger - she is about 71 now, so a similar age to him.

Yes Pauline, I even remember: the six five special!!!
so gives me away a little
but even though I do still get at 8 on a Saturday morning to listen to sounds of the 60's, I can't say I really nostalgic over those era's I would love to dress in the clothes from the 40's.

    Katey

I remember six five special too and Radio Luxembourg and Caroline.

1940s clothes are very feminine, though it helps I guess to have a 40s hairstyle, which is tricky with a wig. The Veronica Lake look is achievable, but something like a snood or French roll is more tricky - and i dont have the hairdressing skills to attempt that.

I have a good few photos of my Mum in 40s outfits looking very glam. And I have posted this one from one of my Pinterest albums.

Gorgeous picture, I love the style of the 40's and 50's. Just very stylish and feminine rather than overtly sexual. However the 20's were a slightly raunchier time! Lol. An exceptionally interesting period of time to both from a social and historical perspective. X
