Drab Drink Manchester

So I went to my first drab drink in June, and I thought I'd let others who are considering it know what it's all about.

It's not about meeting people with or without dressing - if you want to dress, you can, if you don't you don't have to.

    It's about friendship.

There is a temptation to be friends with the dress, not the person, in our little world. This lacks fulfilment of the soul. I like to make friends with the person, not the persona. I don't care if you're in a dress, I take people as I find them.

After some cancellations, there were only a few of us. We met up in the Simple Bar on Tib Street, Rocky the Chicken on the table. I wasn't dressed, as I'd been looking after my son all day, but Pauline was.

We chatted about every topic under the sun, from dressing to politics, it was a very pleasant evening.

Would I go again? Damn right.

Beckie's holding these on the first Thursday of every month, so the next one is the 3rd of July.

This is right before Sparkle, so if you're looking to have a friend at Sparkle, that makes the Drab Drink the perfect opportunity to meet people who'll be there. If you're wary of going out in a dress because you might be seen by people who know you, then you don't have to be worried as you can go in drab. If you're worried about being seen in The Village, this is why it's held away from the Village. It's an ordinary bar, nobody will ever know, and you will get something out of it. You'll get friends.

The Drab Drink is the perfect opportunity to make the next step of cross dressing in smaller increments than the big bang of going out without knowing who you're meeting. You won't regret it!
