Summer break

My eldest son has just finished his first year of high school. We (my wife and I) decided that it would be in everybody's best interests if he was to no longer go to a childminders after school, but instead "get a key to the door".

Since I started dressing again, I've been using Tuesday and Wednesdays after work to get an hour of 'me' time. It might not seem like much, but it has staved off the 'urge'. Additionally, when I worked from home, I'd get eight hours of me time.

With the summer holidays now underway, there will be no working from home in a dress for seven weeks. With my eldest son coming straight home, there will be no more sneaky hours midweek. This means I am now staring into two months of no dressing at home, at all. Any dressing during the day that I manage will have to be a booked holiday and go and visit somewhere. Dressing at night means going out, presumably to the Village, something I may be doing more of through necessity.

So far, the memory of Sparkle is keeping me sane. What I don't understand is why I don't think I can make it to September? What's happpened over the past year that's meant if I go more than a week without spending time in a dress and make up, I start to get very, very anxious?

I've got a night out planned on September 14th - the anniversary of my first ever outing.

I also hope to get out mid-August. Where I'll go, not 100% decided yet, but it doesn't matter really.

So....if I start posting gibberish, send the white coats round to come and lock me up before I do something drastic.

  • Deborah Taylor Yep I'll be 1 year old on September 15th. I can't believe what's happened this year. I count the day as I emerged into the world as my day of birth. The day I put a pair of heels on again after years of suppression, that was my conception...lol
  • Pauline Smith Going back in the closet after escaping is hard. When I came back to England I lived at my sisters for almost 2 years, and was only able to dress when I went "away for the weekend", which for me was a bus ride to stay near the Village. Its...  more
  • Josephine Green Just enjoy the times you can be Debs. This sort of thing happens. Will be thinking of you.
