Plenty of fish

I got told that a friend of mine had a profile on the dating site, Plenty of Fish, and I just *HAD* to see it. Being a nosey cow, they were in fact correct: I did HAVE to see it.

In order to see it, I had to be a member.

For a bit of a giggle, I decided to sign up as me, not the him that earns the money and two times with his wife. If you know what I mean, and I'm sure that you do. You can upload eight photos, so I picked 8 reasonable ones of me, and filled in the questionnaire. A lot of effort to go to! It took me nearly two minutes! I could have watched all the good bits from Britain's Got Body Odour in that time!

    My Profile Picture on POF

It took a while, but I did find the person whose profile I had to see, and my friend was right. It was DEFINITELY worth seeing. What a revelation...who'd have thought he was gay?...but that's enough about that.

When I signed up, I filled it in honestly, in terms of height, eye colour, etc. There wasn't a box for "Tranny" so I put female. I made no mention of the fact that as well as XL jeans, I have XY genes.

Let me stress at this point, I will be deleting the profile fairly soon, I don't want to go on a date with anybody.

However...and it's a big but...Men have contacted me! It's a big ego boost when some random straight bloke sends you an email saying that you're attractive. Thanks Simon From Salford, you made my day.

I might leave it there for a week or so, and see if I get made. Or more dates...

  • Pauline Smith Julie, I agree with you about respect and being nice to others - whether in Manchester or Amsterdam - I just don't see your analysis coming to fruition because a few trannies pushed the envelope on a conventional dating site. As a person who uses TG...  more
  • Pauline Smith As an additional comment about dating sites. In the last month I have spent time chatting with new people on line (only on TG friendly sites) and at a certain stage arranging to meet them, both Tgirls and admirers. Both are equally unreliable - either...  more
  • Deborah Taylor To be honest, I found some of the people on there a little scary. I told all my prospective suitors 'live' (via chat) I was trans. One said he should have guessed from the pictures, most said "thanks for letting me know, I hope you have a nice...  more
  • Josephine Green Recently a dating site took over a site I had used some time ago in male mode and automatically re-opened my profile! I have since then been receiving about two contacts a week asking for meetings. This is from supposed 25-35 year old women who on their...  more
