As usual it's been a while, mainly because life has settled down and nothing much had changed. As of 6th July I started hormones and thought I'd share my experiences so far. I'm on Estradiol Valerate, starting at 2mg per day for 4 weeks and going up by 2mg per day until I reach a Serum Oestradiol level between 400 and 600 (somethings lol). My last reading was 355 but when I reach the magic range they'll test me to see if I need a t-blocker.
I thought I'd share my experience so far
1. As predicted by the Charing Cross consultant, I have put on weight, just shy of a stone (8st 9lbs to 9st 8lbs). I must admit that my appetite has increased and I do find myself snacking, something I never used to need. Sadly the weight is going on my waist but hopefully, as the hormones do their magic, it will find it's way to my hips and boobs.
2. Weeks 2-4: morning sickness! Hot flushes and feelings of nausea, not nice as I spent most mornings after a shower standing in the garden to cool down whilst trying not to be sick. Thankfully that's passed.
3. My once prominent arm veins have become gradually less visible, something I noticed when I went for my last blood test.
4. Boobs, everyone's favourite subject. Amazingly there is growth, not a massive amount but noticeable, a few cms. The down side is the tenderness, a sudden touch can give me a jolt but thankfully constant pressure from clothes is bearable.
I hope this is useful for all the girls hoping to go this way.
