Would I like to be a woman full time? Would I like to be dressed as a woman full time? Would I prefer to be known as Jo or my male name? These questions came to mind while reading some comments which came through on my Facebook account. My friends on Facebook range from young genuine girls through cross-dressers to girls in transition. From the young girls I hear the horrors of being female - discrimination and harassment. From those in transition I hear the horrors that brings - discrimination and being ostracised. So what about the cross-dressers? Well from them the horrors of being found out and living life in the closet.

So would I like to be a woman full time? No. Would I like to dress as a woman full time? No. So what do I want? Well I'm still at work and there it matters little what I dress like. I just need to get my work done. It may matter to some of my work colleagues but I doubt it. As a bloke I can wear the same clothes day after day, so it's easier to do the morning 'get up and go' routine. What is the downside of being a bloke at work? That's easy, having to have an interest in footie or cricket and not having an interest in clothes or fashion.

If that's the case why do I dress? Well when I'm dressed I loose my male protective shell and can be the person I like. And let's be honest, women's clothes are much prettier than men's. They have so much more choice. But with choice comes the problem of having to choose. When dressing as a man I can stand at my wardrobe and decide what to wear in seconds - clean shirt. But when dressing as a woman, I can change my mind three or four times before I'm happy with what I look like and then I have to put my make up on.

So all in all, I'll stay as I am for the time being, a cross-dresser (or as I'm happy to say a Tranny), having the best of both worlds; a quick an easy life for work with no glass ceiling and a glamourous time when I want it.

  • Rani Roy Its so difficult for everyone I suppose. Although I cannot tell people what they should do or want, I do respect what they are going through and wish them the best.
