Favourite childhood books?

    As I'm now rapidly approaching my second childhood, I thought I would ask members what their favourite childhood books were?  One of my favourites, which I got as a school prize, is an american book called Thunder Mountains Mine, which is a good adventure story and I'm actually rereading it for the first time in I don't know how long.

  • Peter Oram Didn't have one all time favourite, but like Pauline, I too enjoyed Dumas, Stevenson, Verne, WE Johns, plus CS Lewis, Asimov, EE 'Doc' Smith, Herbert and Heinlein too name a few

  • Pauline Smith Have to say I didn't get into Sc Fi (apart from Monsieur Verne) till my 20s, and then read all the ones Peter refers to from Asimov onwards. Maybe we never grow up when we read something that takes us away somewhere else? P xx Right now I am reading...  more
