Make up tuition

I just thought I would share my experience for others to take in and make up (!) their own mind.  I won't name names but here goes.  I booked in for a 2 hour make up lesson with the lady in question and was asked for a 50% deposit by Paypal, which I duly paid (£75).  Being the kind person that I am I also paid the balance before the day I went, also by Paypal (another £75).  On arriving at the venue (being early) I was informed that I was too early and could I come back in 15 minutes.  Not wait, go away and come back.  Had I not already paid I was so annoyed I was tempted to go away and get back on the train home, bearing in mind I had travelled about 2 hours to get there - however I thought better of it and did as instructed (via the cake shop).

On returning I was shown in and asked to wait upstairs while being made a cup of tea downstairs, along with chatting to someone else (her, not me) - eventually she appeared about 5 minutes later.  I have to say the lesson was quite good and I learnt a lot - inbetween her taking 3 phone calls and sending texts at every opportunity (whilst I was doing the make up).  The lesson actually took about 75 minutes.  No offer of any photos at any point.  At the end of the lesson I asked if she had received the money OK - she informed me that yes she had but that Paypal had deducted £5.50 in fees and could I pay her for those.  When I pointed out that I sent the money by the method she had asked me to she then informed  me that I should have sent it as a gift, not a supplier payment.  Needless to say on top of everything else this really annoyed me.

Suffice to say I won't be going back again.  When I pay that much for 2 hours of someone's time I expect to get their time, not inbetween doing other things - if I ran my business like that I'd be bust (no pun intended).  I do think that this does serve to highlight that some people make very good money out of trannies, so beware.  I have a lady who does my leg waxing who also does make up, not especially for trannies but I'm sure she would if I asked her.  No doubt it will be a lot cheaper too.  And she's more friendly!

  • Andrea Caskin There tends to be a lot of this kind of profiteering aimed at the TG community, because girls are nervous or worried about going out or shopping for clothes and make-up in the high street.....a lot of people take advantage of that and charge really quite...  more
  • Pauline Smith Andrea, I will take this up with Beckie. I think you are right about good value suppliers. maybe we also need a list of rip off places...Transformation is one that springs to mind. P xx
  • Andrea Caskin Heh Heh................ £35.00 for a false eyelash! XXXXXX
  • Pauline Smith Andrea there was once a spoof website on Transformation - with "only £5000 for a femme body suit" etc etc but unfortunately I could not find the link. Only £35 for an eyelash...that is a bargain Pxxx
