We are being cheated

I have noticed recently that online shops that are advertised as "tvts friendly, In touch with our needs, cater to," along with those recomended by different resource sites are price gouging us. I guess they feel we haven't any options. Well we have plenty. But what bothers me are the help & resource sites that list places for our "special needs", while giving these merchants a pat on the back along with making them sound so helpful. Sure they're helpful, I just saw one selling a pair of boots for $258.00 that I just saw for $68.00. Where they were selling for $68.00 was not a tvts boutique. It was a women's clothing store. I went back & checked & while our " friendly " shop did not have my size the womens store did. Also more colors. Now I've been checking on these special stores & I notice things that are only going to be found there ( breast forms, gaffs, padded hips & butts & very large clothes ) really get gouged. Some places more than others. I would also point out a lot of the recomended stores were paid recomendations or endorsements. I have endorsed products & in lue of fee I took product. I used the particular product so that kept me stocked. Not having to buy it payed me. I was stocked for free & that saved me a lot of money. But I had to reccomend their product, use it exclusivly,go to conventions, trade shows whatever. Now in the cases I'm talking about the help & resource sites link us to these wonderful helpful folks. They say nothing about advertisement or fees or product for endorsement. Now I don't feel the sites are doing anything illegal, but I would not be able to allow that discriminatory pricing without speaking up. I would probably loose the endorsement, but most of the sites charge a fee for something or are selling books or magazines SOMETHING, & selling it to us too. You can make your money without robbing us. I do in my businesses. Greed is in style unfortunatly.

  • Louise James Big Shoe Boutique is pretty good for larger feet, there seems to be a lot more online shops especially catering for "larger lady requirements" (i.e trannies), but yes you are right some people do take the p*ss big time. We all live and learn...  more
  • Deleted Member back in the day (the 80's) most of us were pretty closeted, so were bound to TV/TG shops only. But I think over the years many of us have gone much more mainstream, and so like any shopper -- TG or not -- you always have to compare products, services...  more
  • Deleted Member Brianna you named the number 1 offender. Michael Salems. In the 80's I also shopped there. I checked his prices against others that rob tvts's now & he is still the most expensive.
  • Deleted Member He was terrible, he was interviewed one time and openly admitted that his goal was to gauge people on their first visit with no intent on them coming back, and I had a big fallout with him when he was going to advertise on my personal brianna austin...  more
