Your make-up bag should have everything you need to help you feel glam in a flash. If it weighs almost as much as your handbag or forces you to rummage around for your favorite lippy...then its time for a revamp.
And with Sparkle less than 3 weeks away now is the time to have a search in that bag and do a late spring clean.
Cosmetics usually have a sell by date of two years, so ditch anything that's been lurking around for longer than that.
TIP : If you have had an eye infection replace all eye make up and wash your applicators
Mascara has a particularly short shelf life. Replace after 3 months when it starts to get claggy and clumpy.
TIP: Avoid pumping the wand, which forces air into the barrel, causing mascara to dry out.
Streamline your make-up bag with products that multi-task and can be easily applied with fingers.
TIP: Swap serums, creams and foundations for a BB cream such as Rimmel BB cream, only £5.
Want your handbag to feel extra light? Opt for just mascara, concealer or beard cover and a palette with eye, lip and cheek colour.
TIP: To help your make up last longer avoid exposing it to sunlight.
Wash make up brushes in shampoo regularly to remove bacteria and product build up. Rinse and dry them on a towel overnight.
TIP: Before drying, reshape bristles – try not to change their natural shape.
And finally if your make-up bag is either too large too manky or both – then replace it with a smaller one that fits more easily in your handbag. You can buy them from as little as £3 in Asda or Primark.
