It is with great sadness that I announce that Sally Swings passed away at the young age of 50 this week.
Sally was not a close friend, but she was a great hugger and a lovely person who worked together with Dee Selecta to make the Gatehouse and Dee's Dressing service a great success over the past 7 years. She was a key part of the trans team that totally refurbished the interior of the Gatehouse club when Dee took full control of the Gatehouse back around 2011/2012. I always smile that all the work was done by chippies, electricians and tilers who are trans - even though they all worked in boy mode.
Sally was very active in the transgender community and leaves a partner and young daughter.
I only saw her less than 2 weeks agao at the Gatehouse and she was her normal friendly and loving self. She always gave of herself to others, and was very supportive of new Tgirls.
It's so very hard for me writing this as she was such a vibrant person, who truly lived life to the full. I will miss her smile and friendly gestures and everything about her. She was a wonderful human being who cared.
Here are my two friends - Sally (on the left) and Dee as I will always remember them.
Below is the tribute to Sally from the Gatehouse website
The GateHouse has been running very successfully since 2001, Dee took over in 2011.
Dee must, most regrettably, inform you of the passing of her dear friend, Sally (of Sally's Swinging Sunday's fame and Wicked Wednesday's to name but a few events Sally ran @ The GateHouse over the years). Dee had known Sally for seven years as a personal and very personable friend, in good times and bad, through thickness and thin. Dee's heartfelt thoughts go to Sally's family and friends at this time, the saddest of times.
These are difficult times so Dee asks that all messages are sent via The GateHouse email link that will go directly to Dee (they will be passed onto Sally's family). The club phone is not being answered. Dee will be shutting The GateHouse for a week and hopes that all will truly understand why.
Sally lived life on the biggest of swings, to say she will be missed is beyond an understatement, may she rest in eternal peace.
For those of you who knew Sally and wish to leave tributes please do that on the Gatehouse website.

Thankyou for your understanding
