Adobe Flash Player

Like many of you I am neither geeky nor computer literate, but I do try to keep up to date and keep my various devices safe against virus attacks.

I use two computer systems - Apple and Microsoft. Apple by and large is free of viruses and Microsoft is permanently under attack from trolls and bandits, Android to a lesser extent.

I read an article about a month ago that showed disabling Flash player had 2 big benefits

    1. It made my old laptop (using MS Vista) much faster (like 8-10 times faster)

    2. It made it safer.

    3. Having disabled Flash in Chrome - I am prompted when I use a video supported by Falsh player so can use it as a one off.

    4. So far I have not had to use Flash

Then today (13 July 2015) an announcemnet appears that Mozilla (Firefox) are not supporting Flash anymore because it is too dangerous. I have attached the link.

Boys and Girls it is up to you what you do and which software you use; a wise person would stop using Flash very soon.

    Stay safe when surfing

    hugs

  • Sandra Sloan I have developed many multimedia objecs in Flash and I love the ease and power that it enables you to develop but since Apple (spit) decided not to support Flash on iPads it has more or less died a death for new development. HTML5 has taken off so as far...  more
