Being Trans at Xmas + New Year

It's the one time of the year when you can wear party frocks and be all glittery, and sadly it's often a time when us "trannies" end up in drab....wishin' and hopin' (an old 60's song).

Unlike our sisters who have come out full time - whether transitionining or not - many of us have not come out to our families and friends. Or if we have, then we have a sort of pact with them where we are dads, husbands, brothers and uncles for the festive season (weekends too). So we often spend those main days of the Christmas season not dressed like this, even underneath our drab outer wear.....

We yearn to get some pretty lingerie or lots of smellies all wonderfully gift wrapped in scented tissue paper and christmassy paper.......like all the real women do.....

Marilyn Monroe, when asked what she wore in bed....said Chanel No 5!!!

Is there any easy answer to this for us special girls?  Some would say, it's easy just be a girl; unfortunately there are often no simple answers.

Even for ones like me.  I dress as Pauline maybe 80% of the time - I go to bed about 360 days a year in a nightie, and most days I am dressed and made up with wig (even when out and about). However, even lil ole me still ends up wearing boy clothes and letting the hairs grow back all over at Christmas time. Mind I do usually wear big panties underneath my boy clothes... sadly not racey ones...ah well !!!!

I guess we have to grin and bear it; yes there is choice - but "coming out" fully is a final step that many of us cannot or will not make.

I was talking with my friend Veronica on line yesterday and we both agreed that getting sweaters and scarves is not what we actually want for Xmas. Though it does save us buying boy stuff.

We came up with the idea of reality and illusion, where illusion is the drab persona...all gruff and pretending to be macho, and the reality is the inner feminine self.  That inner reality can be and is different for all of us....for some of us it's like the lady on the swing......

But for me and for many others its about dressing like real women do and going out and about doing ordinary every day things.

I do hope for all of you special girls here that Santa brought you something very feminine. If he didn't then I wish all of you a wonderful 2015 - where hopefully you can have many opportunities to be the real you.

    hugs and kisses

    Pauline xxxx
