Just a quick update on our ongoing software upgrades. Many of the programs we use on this site are in the throes of being updated to their latest versions (we've got over fifty of them). That in itself should give us a faster, more stable site with fewer bugs. There was a problem with registration in the last few days which prevented new members from signing up. That has now been fixed. Sorry if you were affected.
You may have noticed that we now have a new Wall on the main page (or Activity Feed). It is far, far superior to the one we had before but there are a few little teething problems with the way photos are displayed right now (some get a bit squashed up). We're working on that however.
Next week the developers will install brand new Photo Albums software at great expense but it has to be done. We're going to replace the current Albums with a better program from another company which I've dealt with many, many times in the past. They are a bit pricey but their work is, in my opinion, far better.
They will also be writing us some custom code which will bridge the Albums and the new Wall software (which was also written by them). This custom code will prevent photos in Adult category albums from being displayed in the activity feed if you have selected the Safe Feed option, even if they are 'Liked' or shared.
Furthermore, I have taken on another developer, called Ivan, to write some code that will connect our profile photo upload process to an Artificial Intelligence based photo moderator. Hopefully, once that is in place, if a user uploads a profile which contains nudity or genitals it will be automatically rejected and they will be told there and then that their photo does not comply with our terms of service.
These changes should make our mods lives much easier and allow them to concentrate more on other things.
We will also most probably be the world's first online Transgender community to use AI. That's exciting, isn't it? Well I think it is.
So there we are, the software is all getting better and I'm getting poorer. Don't forget that you can donate to Transtastic to help keep us afloat by going to https://transtastic.com/se4/pages/donation. If you like what we're doing here and you enjoy being a member then please dig deep and help us to keep going.
Thanks and hugs,
Katie
