Transtastic Software Roadmap

  Hi gang, it's been something of a baptism of fire for me over the last few weeks.  Apart from dealing with a family bereavement, I've also been taking over the Transtastic reigns from Beckie Fox, who started this community and has done an amazing job at it.  She's going to be a hard act to follow.
  
  I s'pose taking over Transtastic is a bit like buying a used car.  When you first get it you really want to spend time and effort doing it up and making it lovely.  Transtastic is already lovely though so thanks Beckie, that makes my job much easier.  
  
  As you can see from the picture, we've already updated the Transtastic hardware with the latest computer technology.  There are a few software things that don't work right however (as the members have been happy to point out) but we will address them too and make them good once again.
  
  A difficult and expensive way to fix things like pictures that don't upload, would be to hire a programmer and let him discover what is causing the problem and then pay him to fix it.  To fix one little control like that could cost hundreds of dollars.  I think it would be much easier to replace older software packages that don't work right, with brand new ones that do and which are that are right up to date and offer more bells and whistles.  It would also be cheaper.
  
  We've started already.  People were moaning that their pics would not upload properly and that they couldn't upload at all from mobile devices.  So, we have installed a new photo albums package which should seamlessly replace the previous one.  It has fixed the bugs but it has also caused some new ones.  Beckie's clever piece of code that prevented Adult pics being included in the home page feeds of people who had expressly asked not to see them, needs to be rewritten to work with the new software.  Beckie is going to do that ASAP for us but in the meantime, the odd naughty picture may get into your activity feed, so apologies for that.
  
  We have plans to upgrade the Blogs (already working on that), the Forums and the Videos for starters so expect big changes for the better in those areas soon.

  Once the software is all working nice and everyone is happy, I want to organise some social events.   If you have any ideas then please do let me know.
  
  And if you want to help with the site let me know too.  We're going to need good people to moderate and keep the spammers out.
