  Growing up male to female transgender I was absorbed in the matter. I suspect many of us on this fabulous website are. Even though Transtastic is a place for all people, I find where there are male to females there are rarely many male to females. (Am I wrong? Would all the Female to Males please stand up?)

   

  I have been so absorbed in MTF that I rarely gave much thought about the other end of the spectrum with FTM. I did four seasons of radio shows until I realized I had yet to do a single one with an FTM individual. Then it took me an entire season and the start of season 5 to even find an FTM whom would speak to me! My first thought was are they really that elusive or is it really this difficult to step outside of your own corner of culture? Are male to females allowed in the female to male club? Of course they are you just have to find the club! (And I don’t mean a dance club either, darling.)

   

  I had the random pleasure of stumbling upon Female to Male porn star James Darling several weeks ago. It was obvious that this was the perfect person to talk to! Who better than a porn star, comfortable with their body, to be able to share all the important tidbits of a female transitioning to a male?!

   

  James came on my show this last weekend and we had that candid discussion. We need to make it a point to get to know our other half in this trans culture. As much as we wanted to be women, someone out there wants to be men.

   

  The most fascinating of the interview came when we discussed the gender surgeries available to FTM individuals. The scarring left by the removing of the breasts and the possibilities for the penis. I had no idea that testosterone enlarged the clit into a mini-penis (for lack of terms) in which the person could be completely happy with as a male. On top of that to hear all of the additional penis surgeries and ideas as to how to have a fully functional and even erect organ was amazing to me.

   

  It was interesting to note that it appears far more difficult to make the woman a man than the man a woman. You can sweep up a man into a woman with several clean nips and tucks. But to drag the man out of the woman leaves much more scarring and telling signs. This leads me to feel a sense of pride for these people as well as many other tangents James and I went on. This was an extremely educational and mind-opening show which I highly recommend taking a listen to …
