Watching Lance Armstrong in his cleverly, cunningly staged interview this week with Oprah made me so angry. In my mind, the man is an arrogant bully. Bullying team mates to cheat as well, bullying those who threatened to speak out. A Manchester-based masseuse tried to blow the whistle on Armstrong. She was branded an alcoholic 'whore' and sued by a powerful Armstrong empire. He sued and threatened others too. He claimed in his interview that he took drugs as a necessity to create a level playing field. He claimed his cancer made him want to win at any cost. He wants to come back to competitive sport!
How can the sporting world, society, anyone trust him again! What can this dangerous, manipulative bully ever possibly do to make anyone trust him?
When I came out as a tranny to my partner after many years, that lie I had hidden really knocked Her for six. If I had lied about being a tranny for so long then what else could I have lied about??? If I could dress and wear make-up, hide clothes for so long then what else could I hide! My partner still loved me, didn't really care about my condition and it wasn't a big deal being a tranny. Lying was the biggest deal! Some trust was instantly lost but luckily regained.
So, like Lance, how to you restore the trust? How do you come back?
Well, Lance, you're fucked - you lied to the world. You cheated people of their dreams. You took them for fools. I think you're an evil piece of work.
But for the tranny, what's the big deal? Yeah, you like to look and act a little different, who doesn't have their own style or their own hobbies. Being a tranny isn't a big deal.
Being a tranny isn't as big a crime as being Lance Armstrong BUT it can be. What are you doing as a tranny? Are you having secret sex outside of a relationship? Are you being unfaithful? Are you taking drugs, selling yourself cheaply without thinking about those that look up to you?
Lance Armstrong has developed his own brand of cheating. There are many others.....
