Memories are the key to happiness

Memories of happy times or of times gone by can be very therapeutic. Certainly when working with elderly people, the creation of collages depicting good times and great events, can help in many ways to fight off depression, promote a sense of well being and provoke long forgotten memories. Of course there's always the risk of taking a person back toba place they'd rather forget, so that's why it's necessary to do the preliminary work, thoroughly. Info can be obtained from friends and relatives, but all too often such sources are unreliable or none existent. However, there is one question that is usually safe to ask: What is the most romantic time of your life so far? When feeling down, such memories can lift the spirit. And it doesn't really matter if things went wrong with the partner you had the most romantic time with, because that isn't the focus. No matter how things turned out, focus on the good times and be thankful they happened. And if you're one of the lucky ones whose most romantic time is here and now, embrace it and savour every moment. That's my thought for the day, week, month, year, life.
