How to get the message across at work

    A bit of guidance is needed,I am out at work ,via the rumour mill,HR and my colleagues are great,HR have suggested that I could make an official announcement via a few words that my boss will cascade to others,I really don't know what to write.Do I write from the heart,or just keep it simple and non emotional?I am not great with words ,so any examples of anyone doing this before would be much appreciated

    This is what I have got,its brief and will be emailed to all the managers for them to cascade,any thoughts?

    I identify as being Transgender, that is my gender and my sex don’t match.
    Gender is how you identify yourself, sex being down to your chromosomes.
    This I have been fighting all my life.
    From the beginning of the New Year, I will officially become Simone.
    I have the full support of HR, my managers and work colleagues.
    I hope to have your support as well.
    Feel free to ask questions and I will answer them the best way I can.
    Please don’t treat me any different.
