Good Advice, Turned Bad

Just reaching my 39 years I’ve stacked a quite a lot into my life – I’ve done more or less everything I’ve wanted to do so far. Of course, I’d still like to win the lottery and get away from the rat-race – and I’m conscious I’ve got more than most, but also that I’ve worked hard for what I done and have.

I find it deeply fulfilling when people ask me for advice either at work or personally (sometimes both) – but sometimes that advice isn’t always what people want to hear, they aren’t equipped to deal with it, or they might not act on it all.

The four little gems of wisdom I’ve taken around with me since around the age of 21 have been:

    - Don’t regret anything – never look back and think you should have done something else. You did what you did because it was right at the time. So, if you’re going to do something you shouldn’t – then make sure you can able to deal with the guilt or suffer the consequences.

-Always think of Number One (that’s you by the way)

-You only live once, and life is short – do it before it’s too late.

    - Finally, don't 'shit' on your own doorstep!

Any advice I give always also comes with those three bits of wisdom.

You might things they are a selfish f*ckers charter. The reality is they are not – if they included “make sure you come out on top and make more money” then they might be. And sadly for me I’m not that rich – I’m not selfish enough for that. My life is all about giving, helping, supporting – and maybe, just maybe why I’m happy and content with who I am.

So going back to the advice – and good advice, turned bad. If you ever ask for advice from me, then always remember my three gems wisdom that also go with it - or that advice I gave that you – and you acted upon might just turn out to be the worst advice you’ve ever had.
