#technology website transtastic

So two weeks in since the official 'soft launch' of Transtastic and we have 200 members already - thank-you to everyone that has signed up.
For everyone that is coming from TINT I'd like to tell you why I started Transtastic up and where Transtastic and TrannyInternational is going.
The background to TINT is some 12 years ago - when it started out as crossdresser.org.uk, then trannyuk.com. The technology unpinning TINT is also that old too - not scalable, but fairly flexible if you have the time. That time is something I have little of with a busy job and family etc. But it keeps going. Equally, the internet has changed over those years - social networking is a big part of life and integration between sites is common place. All this is achivable with TINT, however, time and cost means that it is not possible for me to complete that task in a meaningfull way - and for the past few years little development has taken place on the site.
So where does Transtastic come in? Well the site is built on newer technology that is more scalable, flexible and modular. This means that there is a wider resource I can draw on to create and implement new features - and this means more time focusing on the important things and the ability to share out admin responsibilties and enable better interaction between all the Transtastic members.
Transtastic is modern and more integrated with other sites - and right now you can link your Transtastic account to Facebook and post your updates on your Facebook wall without leaving Transtastic. You can also bring your friends over from other networks like Yahoo, WindowsLive etc. - these things are simply not viable with TINT.
So where does that leave TINT? The answer is over the coming weeks we will need everyone to migrate over to Transtastic - of course the domain name will remain (it's mine and I love it) - and it will redirect to here. I believe Transtastic is more inclusive and it will have more features that are different but comparable to TINT.
The move to Transtastic will also resolve those annoying speed and reliability issues... but you may have worked that out already.
Finally, if you have questions please feel free to post them here - or ask me directly via the online messaging.
In short, Transtastic is the new TINT.
X Becca
