Funding, Spamming and Features

    Hey Everyone,

     

    I hope you're all well and enjoying Transtastic - it's been a month or so since I blogged about the site and how it's going - after an interesting and exciting week behind the scenes on the site I thought it would be a great to put down a few words about the site and where it's going next.

    This week saw the first agreement for advertisers on the site (well done April Harvey for getting them on-board) - but I make no appology for this as the site does need to cover its cost. Even with the first few ad banners going up this week we are still along way from where I need to be to break-even, but it does mean its fairer for everyone and that its not left to a few people to make donations. However - everyone needs to do their bit and invite your friends to join Transtastic. I know this is great site - but I need you to get the message out there by all and any means.... so please do your bit and tell the world. 

    We also had a number of spammer this week- more than any other week. The moderators behind the scenes have done a fab job - Pauline Smith especially but also April and Nicky too.

    To reduce the number of spammer I've introduced a new technology to stop known sources using the site - this technology will also help improve the speed and performance of the site too (a real win:win).

    I'm hoping that now the last few weeks are over - I can focus on some new features - making a 'lite' mobile version, and also some features to track who viewed your profile. I'm also going work on improved search too.

     

    I will also be annoucing a photo shoot that will be taking place at the end of August in London - so I will be looking for a small number of 'models' who would like to feature on the welcome page of Transtastic and also have the opportunity to be in a TG magazine article.

    But right now - I need to tell the world about Transtastic - and make it fantastic!
